The Challenge
Our clients’ assets consisted of various bulk materials handling equipment and infrastructure that had been in operation for between 2 to 30 years.
The sites maintenance teams had been tasked with creating Asset Life Cycle Maintenance Plans (ALCMP) for the 24 key strategic assets that comprise the two export ports.
To achieve this goal, the company tasked the Port Maintenance Manager to develop Asset Life Cycle Maintenance plans, with the support of an external specialist, experienced in the processes required.
The Solution
EnterpriseIS was engaged to develop Asset Life Cycle Maintenance Plans (ALCMP’s) for the ports two outloading circuits and infrastructure.
The ALCMP’s covered the following elements of the assets life:
- Acquisition
- Operation
- Maintenance
The maintenance plans also contained a 5-year labour budget that was derived from the tactics and strategies developed during the Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) carried out on the sites assets.
The Results
- Developed 24 Asset Life Cycle Maintenance Plans for the Ports critical major assets, including; Ship loaders, land & sea beacons, control tower, wharfs, conveyors, roads, pump house, emergency systems and town jetty
- Created the 5, 10, 15 and 20 Year Maintenance Budgets, for sites Maintenance team
- Key asset’s current condition’s identified and rated
- A full audit completed on the maintenance tactics for assets at both port operations.
