Last night saw us attend the final Austmine networking event in Sydney at the Shellbourne Hotel. The event was a great way to see out a very positive year for Austmine and the METS (mining, equipment, technology, service) sector.
2019 also marks 30 years since Austmine was started in the Hunter Valley by a handful of mining services companies who saw the benefit in joining together to promote the positive work the industry does in Australia and around the globe. Since then Austmine has grown to over 600 members from across the country, representing OEM’s, suppliers, technology providers and services companies.
As a sector, METS contributes $90 billion to the Australian economy and is a significant part of the success story of mining across the country. Austmine plays a major part in assisting METS companies to partner with the miners, and in doing so provides a vital link in the development of new technologies that improve the way we manage mining operations.
A big thanks to Christine Gibbs-Stewart, Sheldon Valcoe, Nicole Columb, Karlena James, Ross Carter and the rest of the Austmine team for another great year.
