EnterpriseIS supported the Operational Readiness of a new lithium processing facility by developing a complete asset maintenance build for CMMS integration and operational handover.
The Challenge
A major minerals processing expansion required a complete Asset Maintenance Build for a new processing facility before commissioning and operational handover.
The key challenge was to capture project, vendor and operational knowledge before it was lost during the transition, and convert it into structured asset hierarchy data, risk-based maintenance strategies, routine maintenance requirements and practical work instructions to support safe, compliant and reliable operations.
The Solution
EnterpriseIS collaborated with the Project Operational Readiness team to deliver the complete maintenance build to the client’s master data team by:
- Establishing a structured asset hierarchy to support CMMS upload, maintenance planning and long-term asset management governance.
- Providing a risk-based view of asset criticality, enabling maintenance effort to be focused on equipment with the highest operational consequence.
- Capturing critical failure modes, controls and mitigation strategies for high-priority assets through facilitated stakeholder workshops.
- Defining and documenting the Maintenance Strategy Approach to be applied across all assets on site
- Creating practical maintenance strategy foundations, linking asset types to task frequencies, labour requirements, shutdown alignment and maintenance rationale.
- Developing task-level work instructions to support safe, consistent execution and improve readiness for operational handover.
The Results
This collaborative approach improved project flow, reduced rework and supported smooth CMMS integration, with minimal upload issues despite most of the work being completed remotely from the EnterpriseIS office.
The project produced more than 10,000 asset hierarchy line items, more than 2,300 unique preventive maintenance tasks and 780 maintenance instruction documents.
More importantly, the process captured critical project data, maintenance insights and operating experience in a structured format, creating a repeatable maintenance build methodology that can be applied across other areas of the operation.
