Our client’s Mining Operations, located in Western Australia, had ramped up operations significantly in just four years. During this time, the application of various levels and forms of business strategy and tactics had been applied across the site.
With the major mining and processing infrastructure now successfully operational, our client wanted to re-focus their efforts on ensuring that the strategy and tactics as well as their people, were fully aligned to meet increasing production rates.
The Solution
EnterpriseIS assisted our client by providing a consultant to:
- Facilitate a workshop to develop and align the site leadership team with an overarching Business Strategy and Plan
- Facilitate workshops with each department to develop their input into the site plan as well as their specific strategy and tactics
- Validate the list of projects that had been identified through previous iterations and consolidate with the existing projects
- Develop a prioritisation process to rank improvement opportunities and facilitate project prioritisation workshops to provide an agreed, prioritised list of improvement opportunities for each department
- Develop project Scoping Summaries for all high priority projects
- Develop a project tracking and reporting system for ongoing monthly reviews.
The Results
- Our client now utilises a strategy and tactics aligned to the growth objectives of the organisation
- Key projects have a Scoping Summary detailing the specifics of the projects as well as the accountabilities and responsibilities
- Each department’s projects are captured in a project-tracking database and are reviewed by the Project Manager, Department Manager and General Manager monthly.
