Case Study: High Risk (Classified) Plant ManagementIron Ore Mine - WA, Australia
The Challenge
The client had recently taken over an Ore Processing Facility from a contractor.
The client found there were gaps between the management of Classified Plant on site and the requirements under Western Australia’s legislation.
The Solution
The client appointed a consultant from EnterpriseIS as a Classified Plant Officer for the Ore Processing Facility.
The EnterpriseIS consultant was responsible for managing the project to ensure classified plant compliance with the mining regulations.
The site was inspected for classified plant items and 200 items were identified. A specialist Classified Plant Inspector was engaged to complete statutory inspections on all items of classified plant and report non-compliances.
EnterpriseIS then worked to close the gaps in documentation of classified plant and to have any physical non-compliances rectified.
EnterpriseIS worked with the client to develop a planned maintenance program for all classified plant items on site.
The Results
- All classified plant items on site were inspected to achieve compliance with the regulations.
- Documentation to prove compliance was sourced and kept in a central library on site.
- Maintenance plans to ensure continued compliance were implemented in the Computerised Maintenance Management System.
