Case Study – CMMS Pressure Vessel Statutory Inspections – Power StationMajor Power Generator - NSW, Australia

Our client’s Asset was a 435MW Combined Cycle power station, capable of powering approximately 200,00 homes and had been operational for six years.

With gas turbines, steam powered generating systems and many pressure vessels requiring statutory inspections, strict Maintenance regimes were applied to ensure the safety and reliability of the asset.

Being a relatively new operation, the maintenance support material was still under development.

During previous outages, the maintenance team obtained basic detail that allowed simple planning, but this needed improvement, as the vessels are only accessed on a 3 yearly frequency.

• EnterpriseIS developed a process to capture all of the handwritten detail from the outage work orders. 
• Existing work instructions were then updated or new ones developed as required with the following detail included;
  • Spares/consumables including part numbers and store locations, tooling for access or testing, scaffolding setup, labour requirements (time and number), inspection of removed items, reassembly torque specifications, special instructions and images of the asset and site locations. 
• Documents were altered using the client’s technical change management and approval processes.  
• On completion, documents were then be uploaded into the web based secure document library, where they become attachments within the CMMS. 
• All remaining data was entered into the Maximo CMMS. 
• All CMMS updates also followed the client’s technical change management processes.
