Case Study - Risk Management Process- Steel ManufacturingCoated Steel Manufacturer - Bangkok, Thailand

The Challenge
Our client required a process for identifying, documenting and managing key risks to the business.
This meant that a hazard and risk register was required, and appropriate risk management processes put in place.
This requirement needed to be followed by comprehensive risk management awareness and training be rolled out to all relevant stakeholders.
The Solution
An EnterpriseIS team member was engaged to facilitate the development of the Hazard and risk register.
This was managed by the facilitation of a number of workshops with selected stakeholders, to identify the major and dominant hazards and risks to the people and to the business.
An 11-element hazard and risk register was created.
To support the management of the risk register, a series of processes and procedures were developed and implemented.
A series of roll out/familiarisation/training workshops were also conducted to ensure comprehensive understanding around the business.
Continued review of the hazard and risk register was also required to not only ensure that all controls (both preventive and contingent) retain their relevance, but also to identify new and emerging hazards and risks as the business environment changes arise (physical, social and economic).
The Results
- A robust 11-element risk register, supported by documented processes and procedures, owned by the business and continually reviewed and actioned on
- Identification of and mitigation plan development and implementation for the top 10 risks that the business is exposed to.
