Case Study – Lifecycle Cost Model Development
Asset Lifecycle Cost Model Development
As assets age, their condition needs to be reviewed in order to ensure the operating and maintenance plans reflect the business needs and the assets health.
In order to make effective investment decisions, management teams need to be able to model the lifecycle costs of their assets. In particular, mobile assets are often one of the biggest capital costs for mining operations, so it is critical that the business understands the impacts that different operating strategies will have on these assets throughout their lifecycle. In this case study, EnterpriseIS was engaged by our client to develop lifecycle cost models for new mobile assets, in order that the business could make an investment decision regarding the expansion of mining operations at an Australian gold mining operation.
These models enabled the client to understand the break-down of costs associated with these assets so they could decide which asset management strategy to adopt for each asset type.
