When a Business goes through organisational structure changes, it is vital to ensure leaders at all levels are using their time effectively to manage their teams effectively. However, in the transition process, leaders often end up with significantly increased workloads, which hinders their ability to spend time in direct supervision. To understand how the leaders are spending their time and efforts, EnterpriseIS routinely conducts “Day in the life of” (DILO) studies to assist clients improve the allocation of tasks and requirements of these positions.

In this case study, our client had recently re-structured their business to flatten the organisational structure and reduce their headcount. The result was additional load on the supervisors and loss of active supervision time. To assist them in improving this process, EnterpriseIS conducted a day in the life of study, which was able to deliver accurate data on how supervisors spent their time and identified a number of areas to improve their roles.
