Operational Readiness Plan Development – Case Study (GoldMine)Underground Gold Mine - NSW, Australia

The client was in the process of expanding the site with a mix on greenfield and brownfield assets and wanted to include Operational Readiness (OR) into the project.

EnterpriseIS were asked to provide assistance in developing the operational readiness plan for the project.  The initial requirement was to map out the operational readiness plan into separate plans for Greenfield Assets attached to the Mine and the Brownfield Process Plant expansion.

The client also required a resourcing plan and budget to support the successful delivery of the plan, as well as a high level schedule for tracking OR progress against plan.

The detailed tasks for Mine and Processing were developed into separate OR plans, schedule and budget, utilising the EnterpriseIS Operational Readiness Framework.

The EnterpriseIS Framework consists of 18 elements, 114 sub-elements and over 400 questions to assist in the development of the OR Plans.  By utilising the framework, several gaps were identified between the current identified activities and the required actions for a successful ramp up.

Workshops with the multiple stakeholder teams were facilitated, to review the current activities, identify further activities to address the gaps, assign resources, determine dependencies, and set dates / schedule.  These activities were inserted into separate OR plans, to give a comprehensive view of all milestones and activities, their timing, who was assigned to each task, the cost and effort to complete.

OR schedules were developed for each site to track actual progress against plan together with an overall OR budget.
