Friday saw EnterpriseIS host a group of students from the University of Wollongong’s Supply Chain Management Society, to introduce the concept of Value Stream Mapping.
With the help of the team from Precision Metal Stamping, the students were able to see how the process of value stream mapping is applied within a “live” business to identify the flow of products and information.
As many of us will remember from our time studying, case studies are great for the introduction of principals, but they are no substitute for working within a business to sharpen our skills and reinforce core concepts.
Getting students involved in relevant experience early on in their studies and subsequent careers is a solid building block in developing practical problem solvers, who can hit the ground running when they enter the workforce.
For this reason, EnterpriseIS is a proud supporter of the UoW Supply Chain Management Society as it seeks to provide these sorts of opportunities for students as they work through their Masters degrees.
